Oseberg 1:35

I have a vision. I have an idea. I have a dream.

I would like to make a viking diorama. Not really sure at this moment how the environment will be, but at least I want a ship there. Or part of a ship. And as I have bought some really nice tin figures in scale 1:35 I also want a ship in that scale.

That's easier said than done.

Well, there is ships to be found in that scale, but they are all super expensive! And when I look into those boxes, it also seem those models are for experienced model builders.

Therefore, I came up with a geeky solution to build an own ship from scratch. All I needed was a blueprint of a viking longship. That part was the part that was easier said than done.

The best one I found was in pieces and can be downloaded from shipmodel.com but as they were all in pieces I have copy paste them together in two A3 pictures, and when you print them out in A3 the scale is actually almost 1:100 (!)

I realized that it would help a lot if I could print this out in 1:35 scale I could easily cut out the paper parts, glue them on sticks and easily saw them out. Each A3 blueprint had to be cut into six new pieces, also printed out in A3 and together they are almost in the right scale (1:35) or close enough. All those pictures can be downloaded from here.
